Late Friday evening on July 31, 2015 Brett Rockefeller suffered a massive stroke! It was a scary situation to witness but even scarier that his 9 year old son and wife had to witness it! Their lives were turned upside down in a matter of minutes and haven't been the same since! Brett's beloved wife, Lisa has been at his bed side at Strong Memorial hospital ever since! They have 3 children, Kyle (21), Reese and Tristan who are both 9 1/2 years old. Kyle and Reese both have special needs
and this has not been easy for any of them to process!
Brett's left side of his body has some paralysis and he will need intense therapies! The DR's are still in the process of evaluating everything to be sure he gets the appropriate treatments. Prayers are working because with each passing day Brett gets a little better! We are praying that God touches his body and heals it completely!!
While Lisa is staying at the hospital with Brett I have been staying at thouse with the kids and making sure there needs are met. I have been fortunate to have the help of friends and family as well.
All 3 of the kids have so many questions and concerns about their dad. When Brett is able to come home it will be a huge change and added interuption in their daily life. With Reese being deaf/blind and Kyle having Cerebral Pasly both need hands on assistance with their daily living skills and Brett will need just as much.
I am humbled by the support people have been showing already. Unfortunately, the bills are piling in and now that Brett isn't working I don't know how their bills are going to be paid. Lisa hasn't been able to work in over 3 years do to her own medical conditions and who knows when or if Brett will be able to return to work. The kids regular routine has already been interuppted and I would hate to see them lose their house or have utilitys shut off! Sadly, there was a knock on the foor this morning and it was the water company wanting to shut their water off. I explained the situation and was able to make arrangements to pay the bill by 4pm. I took care of that and tried talking to the company about the situation but they could have cared less! Now the mortage is due and their are no funds for that!
