Hello, my name is Carla Gomez and I had the pleasure to meet this wonderful young woman during a very difficult time in the peak of the pandemic. She made my day so much easier and encouraged all of us and kept us calm through all the chaos and uncertainty.
On June 2nd, Lynsey was admitted to Holy Cross Medical Center due to abnormal lab results and a mass in her pelvis. After extensive testing and imaging, the mass was surgically removed on June 7th. On June 8th, at only 34 years old, Lynsey received the official diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer. Thankfully, the cancer was caught as early as possible (Stage 1A) and no metastasis was found.
Although her prognosis is optimistic, this ordeal has put the Hernandez-Elkin family through tough emotional and financial struggles. Lynsey will likely be unable to return to work as a Home Health nurse until the beginning of 2022, due to immunocompromisation that will come with her upcoming chemotherapy treatment. She is being cared for by her loving partner Aaron, her 3 year old son Jaxon, her parents Nancy and Dana, and her loyal emotional support cat Sansa.
i am hoping you can all dig deep into your
pockets and spare what you can to help her and her family get by since both Lynsey and Aaron are currently out of work and in dire need of financial help. Thank you in advance and please feel free to share this page.
