For the past nine months, our kuya AJ has been fighting a battle no one should ever have to face.
On April 26, 2025, while attending the Lapu-Lapu Festival, AJ was tragically struck by an SUV that left him with life-threatening injuries. His legs were crushed, his ribs and wrist were broken, and he sustained a severe traumatic brain injury. While hospitalized, AJ suffered a massive stroke that required emergency brain surgery, during which part of his skull was removed to allow his brain to swell and save his life.
Against all odds, AJ is still here — and healing.
Since then, AJ has made remarkable progress. His bone flap has been put back, his legs fully rebuilt, and he is now deep in the demanding work of physical and neurological recovery. He attends physiotherapy every day, relearning how to stand and working toward standing independently. He also receives regular acupuncture and speech therapy. The next crucial step in his healing is hyperbaric oxygen therapy to improve brain function following his TBI, and we hope to take him to one of the leading clinics in the United States.
Throughout this journey, AJ has been surrounded by unwavering love. His mom and aunt have not left his side since the accident and have become his full-time caregivers. Because of the dedication and the support of this community, AJ is on the road to recovery — but it remains a long and challenging one.
Your support will help provide the therapies and treatments AJ needs as he continues fighting for his future. Every donation, share, and prayer truly makes a difference. Thank you for holding AJ and his family in your hearts.
