Ryan's Spinal Cord tumor fund

Dear Friends,
Our courageous Ryan Matson, Kari Matson's 17 year old son, has been recently diagnosed with a spinal cord tumor. He has undergone one surgery so far at Seattle Children's Hospital to attempt to remove the growth. Unfortunately, the tumor is deeply imbedded in his spinal cord making complete removal impossible at this time. The treatment plan is still being determined as this a rare tumor and Kari is still exploring Ryan's options.
This diagnosis was totally unexpected and is devastating for Ryan, his whole family, and all those who know and love him. Prior to this, Ryan was just starting his final semester as a senior in High School and eagerly anticipating starting his adult life.
Ryan has an incredible spirit, his smile lights up the room, and he is facing this ordeal with grace and positivity.
Thankfully, Ryan does have some insurance, but it will not cover anywhere close to all of the expenses that will emcumber the family during this difficult battle. A large deductible and co-insurance payments as well as Kari's need to miss work to care for Ryan will take its toll financially. Kari is a hardworking single parent and is going to need our support to get through this.
Today we are asking for your help as Ryan has undergone a serious surgery and faces a long recovery and a difficult battle. By reaching out to all of Ryan's friends and loved ones we are hoping that we can come together to ease the hardship that this wonderful family is enduring. Any amount you give is gratefully appreciated and will truly make a difference to help carry this family though this scary time.
