My name is Darcy and I'm asking for help for my good friend Sarah. Last year in 2024, Sarah felt a lump in one of her breasts and scheduled a routine check up. When she went in to get a mammogram and ultrasound, she was told that she had nothing to be concerned about.

Early in September 2025, Sarah noticed the same lump felt different to her. She went in for more screening and a biopsy and was told the tumor is not only cancerous but is also almost 9cm in diameter. She's now facing a double mastectomy which is coming up on November 19th.

In addition to the already challenging road ahead of her, she was struck by a truck while driving a few weeks ago and is dealing with serious back issues while trying to prepare for her upcoming surgery. Her Subaru was deemed totaled by her insurance company and they were paying for a rental car during the last few weeks but that has stopped and she is currently paying for the rental car out of pocket until a settlement check is received for a replacement vehicle.

She previously planned on working right up until her surgery but had to leave early because of her injuries from the accident.

She is the most kind, loving and hardworking woman with a 5 year old son who needs to be taken care of during one of the hardest times of her life. Any help with unforeseen expenses would mean the world!! She will find out if chemotherapy and radiation are recommended after her surgery is complete so any and all support is very much appreciated.
