Let's Help Get Blaine Benson Back on His Feet
Blaine Benson, a longtime High Falls resident was in a very serious bike accident in late summer and sustained a significant traumatic brain injury. After being in/ and then coming out of a coma, he was transferred to Helen Hayes Rehab Hospital where he has been for the last several weeks. Although he is making excellent gains, he has a very very long road ahead of him and will need extensive physical, occupational, and speech therapy along with home health aides, and adaptations to his home along with a great deal of equipment so he can be safe when he gets dis-charged.
Blaine has been a fan of Bradley Farm for a long time. You may know him as our neighbor who every year, for 4 years running, helped us by being a guest chef for a Memorial Day Caja Box Pig Roast. His generosity of spirit is matched by his good nature. He was a great friend to the farm, we are heart broken, and want to do whatever we can to help him get better.
Although he and his wife Jerrie have "good" health insurance, there are significant gaps in insurance, and a host of co payments, deductibles and non covered charges for many of the things that will make it possible for Blaine to come home and continue on a long road to recovery.
Thank you in advance for whatever you can contribute. If we could, we would host a fundraiser at the farm, but cannot in the age of COVID.
