On April 3rd 2018, Laurence was diagnosed with Coroidal Melanoma, a rare form of eye cancer. He has been presented with two options, shrink the tumour with the use of specialized treatment or loose his right eye. Unfortunately, the treatment is currently unavailable in Vancouver, as the part of the hospital with the required equipment is currently under renovation. The only other place with the correct setup for treatment to try and save his eye is in Boston. He will be travelling down there on April 15th 2018 and has been accepted for treatment. BC Medical will be covering the medical costs (luckily) however he has been informed that it will be a long and hard fought recovery. Laurence recently moved back home to Vancouver where he was starting his own painting and renovation company which unfortunately makes him ineligible for EI or other financial assistance. I really wanted to put it out there that if there is any way to help him financially with the costs of travel, food and rent for the next year and a half that would really go a long way to allow him to focus on his recovery. Laurence is 34 years old and was just starting to get everything lined up when this bomb was dropped on him. Unfortunately, his monetary situation is dire and anything will help. Laurence is a fighter and a warrior and one of the strongest people with the highest level of integrity I know! Please. Thank you.
