Prayers for A.J.

Donation protected

On January  23rd, my son arrived at St. Luke's hospital with a stomach ache. After the doctors examined him, it was determined that it was his appendix. He was scheduled for an emergency surgery. Needless to say, I was a mess. He is my only child and I honestly would not want to have another one because he is perfect.

After the surgeons opened him up, they noticed internal bleeding and realized it wasn't the appendix. They soon realized that AJ's liver had tumors on it. His first biopsies were performed as well as bloodwork and a full MRI. We soon discovered one of his tumors had ruptured and spread throughout his abdomen and entered his lungs.

As a parent, this was the absolute worst news that I have ever heard. The day before we went to the hospital, A.J. was a healthy teenager who had never had a health problem and who had just won the Sportsman of the Year for Sportsmanship voted on by the players. This was to be his first season in this baseball league where he came onto the team in its 6th game of the season.

He has endured three procedures, one which the team of  doctors told me was his best chance of survival. I was crushed when they told me.

But through this tramatic and life changing experience, my little boy has never cried. How is it possible to hear you have cancer, endure the pain of surgery knowing that you "might" only survive this and you're barely 15 years old. I would've been crying for mom, for God. And he's got this blank look about him.

Hes always been a sweet and kind person who's respectful and considerate to others. And for those of you who know him personally know what I mean. And it just doesn't seem fair. But I TRUST IN GOD that there truly will be good that will come out of all of this for A.J. And the good that has come to us so far has been all the prayers, love, and support.

THANK YOU all so much and we appreciate all that you are doing for us by including us and our family in your moments of prayers. Sincerely love and GODBLESS
