Tracey Smith Kidney Fund
Donation protected
My husband Tracey is in stage 5 kidney failure, and needs a kidney transplant. He has IGA Nephropathy which is a non-hereditary genetic disorder. We have good medical coverage, and 4 potential donors who are being tested now, but we are going to lose Tracey's income for the next year. He is eligible for disability in 6 months; however we need to cover living expenses between now and then. He had the catheter for peritoneal dialysis placed on 1/21/15 and is no longer working. The picture is of Tracey and his brother Troy, who is also in stage 5 kidney failure and in need of a transplant.
We have 2 sons ages 17 and 19, 6 rescue dogs (in the house!) and 5 feral cats outside. We were afraid we would have to give up the dogs, but the doctors agreed that as long as Tracey had a sterile, dog-free area, we could keep them. We put in new floors and painted the master bedroom and bathroom, and the dogs are adjusting.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
