Support Rachel's Journey to Health and Stability

My name is Donna and I am raising funds for my daughter, Rachel. She is a 23 year old mom to a one and a half year old son, Brentley. Rachel has dealt with kidney problems her entire life, her first surgery being when she was 11 months old, when she was a junior in high school we did peritoneal dialysis until she was transplanted the beginning of her senior year. Her body just didn’t respond well to this kidney and she ended up rejecting it 6 months after giving birth to her little boy. She has been doing in center dialysis for a little over a year now. We moved to Norfolk last summer to be closer to my work and her dialysis center, Davita. Her numbers are high and so she was put on hold for transplant. In an attempt to get her numbers down we are training to start doing home hemo dialysis, this means a lot, everyday, travel time to Omaha, where the training is. She also has to undergo a surgery on June 2, they are taking out her thyroid glands, that surgery is also in Omaha. Rachel and her son live with , she can’t work cause dialysis and her son take all of her energy. I went from working two full time jobs to cutting my hours drastically at one job, to make the trips to Omaha work and the other job closed down(hillcrest care center in Laurel, ne). I am just asking for traveling expenses and bills while we manage this next phase of life.
