Josie's Journey through Cancer Recovery

Hello Family and Friends,

In February 2021 I was diagnosed with Squamaous Cell Carcinoma on the trigeminal nerve in my face which is the largest largest nerve in the head. These last few months have been very challenging and extremely painful. I have finished 37 Proton Radation treatments along with mulitple Chemotherapy. These treaments have caused extreme side effects like hearing loss, fatigue and loss of use in my left arm. This has left me unable to work after being a hair stylist for almost 30 years. After losing my son Derek 3 years ago and my son Curtis growing a family, living on his own, which I am very proud of. Some of you may not know, In February of 2020 I seperated from Marty and have been the sole proprietor of my home since then. I had saved money for this but as we all know covid did not help with any extra hours or clients at work leaving my saving depleted after these last few months. I cannot thank my family and friends enough for everything they have done for me along the way, especally my sister Pam, for being my primary care taker through this journey. As you all know I have always been a very strong willed, Independent, giving person. This has been very difficult for me to write at this time. I thank you all in advance for anything you can do to help me in this time of need.
