Kingwood Barkfest

Kingwood Barkfest was founded in 2007 by pet industry entrepreneurs Jennifer Kitchens-Street and Jamie Bakke. Recognizing the need for a community pet event in the Kingwood area, Jennifer and Jamie created the event to raise awareness of the important of rescue and adoption. Caring for hundreds of neglected and abandoned animals each year is an expensive endeavor. Animal shelters and rescue groups are not funded by the city, state or government and every penny really counts! These shelters and rescue groups count on events such as Kingwood Barkfest to help continue their mission to help both community pet advocates and local businesses.
The mission of Kingwood Barkfest is to increase the number of adoptions from local rescue organizations and animal shelters and to raise public awareness of responsible pet ownership.
