Kim Fields Memorial Fund

It is with a heavy heart that I write this. My beautiful mother battled for years against debilitating pain and illness forcing her to eventually leave her career.  She continued to fight even with everything that life threw at her. She went through extreme weight loss and fatigue and still managed to be there for anyone who needed her without question and managed to do it with a smile on her face. Nobody close to her had to wonder if they were special to her or loved, she made you feel like the best person in the world or that you could do anything.

In the last year, though, my mom appeared to start getting better. This happened around the time my aunt came to live with mom.  My aunt has limited mobility and doesn't walk very well and eventually couldn't walk at all. My mom had to basically carry her everywhere. We thought she was crazy for taking this on, but she started to gain weight and move better. Things were looking up, she was in good spirits and getting stronger.  We were  all spending time with each other more than ever. Everything felt good, until July 11; and I received a phone call explaining that my mother went to sleep and did not wake up. I loved my mother so much.

As a struggling woman who was forced into the world of disability checks that amount to a quarter of her normal working wage, life insurance and death plans were not in place. So many people have reached out and expressed their love for Mom. Everyone has told me, "if there is anything I can do to help, please let me know!" Well here we are, we need you now more than ever. My brother and I will be handling final expenses. We need to collect donations to cover the funeral service, viewing, and burial plot. We are hoping to collect enough money within the next week that will cover all final expenses and debts. Any contribution will be appreciated and much needed.
