My Mother's Amazing Dance Studio
IS UNDER THREAT
of shutting down,
due to Covid,
and I am asking for your support.
The biggest thing you can do (aside from donating) is to SHARE this to other people that have been involved with the studio. Also, please get former students to submit their email addresses to our mailing list so we can keep them updated.
"Donna's Studio of Dance" was Founded in 1979 in Pahrump NV a Rural community outside of Las Vegas.
At this point, we have taught 3 generations of Pahrumpians and have seen many talented young students grow up and continue with the studio as instructors and assistants, as I did. It is our hope that dance instills a sense of confidence in our young that goes well beyond performing in recitals, a sense of belonging to a team and a community, and a sense of self esteem and well being which will promote a healthy lifestyle. It is one of the things I attribute my successes to, and I know a number of other people in Pahrump Feel the same way.
We have always run the Dance Studio on a "Shoestring Budget" and have kept the Studio open over the last 41 years (WOW) . It's been a labor of love, not money, to help the good of the children in our community. There are not a lot of performing arts outlets in our tiny little desert town. We were forced to close just before our end of season Dance recital :( My mom runs the business at a loss to make the classes affordable and the dance recital is how she recoups those losses and stays in business. At this point she is likely willing to throw in towel, but I always see how much joy it brings her to raise the children of Pahrump and I've witnessed the positive effects on the multiple generations she has touched, and so I want to save the dance studio. Donations will help for sure, but
even more importantly, in order to save the studio,
please share your stories of how my mother and the Studio positively impacted your life.
Please send this to your classmates and ask them to send it on, and in working together, I believe we can create a stronger community and help heal Pahrump.
If you want to be involved on a higher level, please message me personally with what year you graduated highschool or 8th grade, and I will be assigning one "Class Representative" for each year to help connect us to the rest of classmates. This could be a great time to come together and reconnect with the people we grew up with.
We are in need of financial support right now for the next 6 months to cover rent so that we can continue on. The funds we raise will go directly into the business operations costs. If there ends up being any funds in excess of the operations cost the funds will be put into our Student Sponsorship program for low income families.
