Keep Kanon Homma in the California Youth Symphony

If you love the California Youth Symphony, you should owe all your thanks to Mr. Homma. Kanon Homma is no stranger to the musicians of CYS. As the musician's council president, he posts weekly announcements, preparing every musician for the following rehearsals. He also runs the social media page, dedicating hours to selecting and editing rehearsal and concert videos, all while receiving no payment for his efforts. If you've seen the concert promotions, Kanon was the one who advertised the posters, organized the interviews, and recorded the rehearsals for them.

Additionally, Kanon Homma is a leader, a true friend to the orchestra members, and a stellar musician to the entire group. As principal trumpet, even with nearly all of the brass from the previous season having graduated, he still created a highly successful section built off of fresh faces. For any CYS member, musician or staff, it would be impossible to imagine a season without Kanon, except that may be the reality for the following season. Due to the increased tuition and financial issues, Kanon cannot afford to attend the 2024-2025 season simply by his own efforts.

Account for the icebreakers, games, gifts, and all the times you were reminded about writing in rehearsal numbers and extended rehearsals. You owe all of that appreciation to Kanon Homma.
