My name is Katie Bates & I am an R&B/soul singer-songwriter based in Chicago. Currently, I perform with Chicago Soul Spectacular and local R&B band Young Lady, but it’s high time for me to release a solo body of work!
Thus, I present to you ‘Out Of The Blue’ EP : a four song love letter to my lifelong anxiety & depression. In this album, I make peace with the negative cycles of my past and create a space for growth in my present & future. I have written this album with friends Marcus Reese & Michael Damani, and I am proud of the full spectrum of emotion it evokes. It is a true experience and I can’t wait to share it with you!

-Recording & microphone rental : $1,400
-Mastering : $400
-Paying my instrumentalists : $400
-Vinyl pressing : $2,073
