Katelyn Pethel's Recovery Fund

Katelyn was in a car accident Tuesday, June 21, 2022. She was rushed to the ER in Boone, NC; then transferred to Winston-Salem to Wake Forest Baptist Medical center for surgery. We are still at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center; it appears she may be discharged this week of June 28th at some point. She can’t stand right now; she is confined to a wheelchair for two- three months. She has two broken hips, fractured pelvic, a ruptured spleen, hole in her bladder, they said she will come back in two weeks after discharge for a dye test to ensure the bladder is healing properly. As you can imagine we are in shock, not much sleep, devastated, scared worried sick, we feel helpless. She has a long road ahead of her to recovery. She will stay in Bone, NC where she has resided since January 2022, during her recovery.

Lesley, Jay, and June will be traveling back and forth after her discharge to assist with her recovery and attend follow up appointments. We are asking for help for unexpected medical bills, co pays, items she needs during recovery and travel expenses for the family.
