Karla Duenas has been part of our team at Kaneh for 8 months now and in a very short time has become family! She is such a gifted holistic skincare specialist but more than that she is an incredible person and its a joy to be in her presence. Karla and her husband James moved from San Diego to Boise with their dog Harlow, and left their business, family and world behind a year ago. This year since they have been in Idaho, has been a rollercoaster ride for them and mainly with her health.

Her struggles started with an itchy ear that urgent care could not diagnose and followed with multiple appointments with several different doctors, including her own selfcare and detox protocols! She has been trying to get answers to her problems with her health and body, and suffering for some time now.

It was this past weekend that her health took a turn and she and her husband spent the weekend in the ER and ICU at St. Luke's to discover an unfortunate diagnosis of lymphoma. Its been devastating for them and those that know her and love her. We want to do everything we can to help them during this difficult season. We are asking if you have it and feel led to give, please do and anything will be a blessing to them.

Thankfully Karla and James are strong and have a plan of attack to fight for her health. She will not be able to offer her amazing treatments at Kaneh for awhile but we are hoping to raise funds to help cover her loss of work and lift some stress so she can focus on getting healing.

This Christmas, if you want to give a gift to someone who is well deserving and in need please consider making Karlas Christmas a whole lot less stressful and help fund their treatment plans!

Update on Karla January 27, 2026

Karla is 5 weeks into her treatment under the care of a great team that partnered together. All hands are on deck, especially her husband James is doing so much for her daily needs. Her body is responding to treatments but very weak, she is having hard time swallowing food and drinking water because the lymph nodes are very swollen. Thank you to everyone that has given financially and for your prayers. Pray for James strength to care for his wife and specifically for Karla to have strength to overcome. She has been doing amazing so far and we are very hopeful!!
