Support Kaitlyn's DIPG Fight
Donation protected
In mid-April we were happily planning for Kaitlyn's 5th birthday celebration in May. Then on April 19th we learned that Kaitlyn is fighting a pediatric brainstem cancer called DIPG — diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma.
DIPG is currently considered to be inoperable and incurable due to its location within the brainstem. There are treatments, but currently no known cure.
Right now we are focused on getting Kaitlyn stable enough to come home. She will need to recover from the biopsies that were done, and then we plan to begin outpatient radiation therapy to shrink the tumor and buy us some quality time together.
We are taking time off work to spend every possible moment with Kaitlyn, creating memories and helping her feel safe and comfortable as she goes through her DIPG journey.
You can follow Kaitlyn's updates at her Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/KaitlynsKrew) or at CaringBridge.
Thank you so much for the love that everyone has shown. We welcome and appreciate your support!
