I am Mustafa Almasri, from Canada. I write on behalf of my extended family, who are facing unimaginable hardships amid of the ongoing war in Gaza.

Many homes in their neighborhood were destroyed by constant bombing, leaving my family to live in constant fear.

Our hearts break when we witness their suffering. They deserve so much more than the horrors of war.

In this time of desperation, my extended family made the difficult decision to seek refuge elsewhere for their safety and well-being. However, they face significant obstacles, including the exorbitant fees required to cross the border from Gaza.

Suffering and surviving 135 days of war, my extended family had no choice but to consider using the immigration measures which allow Canadians and permanent residents of Canada to bring their loved ones to a safer place temporarily. The Canadian government will be granting them three-year temporary resident visas.

I am fundraising to get my family out of Gaza war zone. My family has an opportunity to survive If they can make it to the Egyptian border, then to Canada. For that, they need to raise the money to make it happen.

Here is break down to how much it cost to get them to Canada:

1) Applying for Temporary Canadian visa: $185 per person * 17 =$3,145

2) Crossing Egyptian border $10,000 per person* 17 =$170,000

3) Passports $265 per person *17 = $4,505

4) air plane tickets Cairo- Canada $1000 per person *17 = $17,000

5) Renting 3 homes for the first two months $2200 * 3 homes* 2 months = $13,200

6) Food, winter clothes, basic needs for 17 people over two months = $500 per person *17 people *2 months = $17000

Total to support 17 people to travel and live for 2 months in Canada $224,850.
