Help My Sister Beat Breast Cancer

Donation protected
Hello Family and friends,

On August 17, 2017, I found out that my big sister, Marquita, was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. Anyone who knows me, knows my sister and I are extremely close. So finding this information out hurt my soul. Anyone who knows my sister Marquita , knows she is a beautiful person inside and out. Marquita is a wonderful wife, a fantastic mother of three, a great mentor, and an amazing friend.

Marquita and her husband Bryan just celebrated their ten year wedding anniversary on June 30th of this year. One can only imagine the total shock they endured being diagnosed with breast cancer just two months later. Anyone who knows my sister or brother in law, knows how loving and caring they both are, especially Marquita. She is constantly helping others with anything they need, whether financially, emotionally, or physically, if she can help she does it without hesitation. She is always the one to help and never the one to ask for help.

This is why I am reaching out to everyone on her behalf, because sometimes when a person is always the one to help they often forget how to ask for help or that they deserve to get help when they need it. This is where you and this fund comes in. The first thing people ask is “what can we do to help?”, well here is how. The medical bills continue to add up and we are reaching out to our amazing and supportive network of family and friends to help, in any and every, shape or form. Any donation is greatly appreciated and will be a huge help to Marquita during the next few months.

Marquita has already underwent 2 surgeries. The medical treatment plan for her cancer, which will include chemo, surgery and medications, will start in October, 2017. Although, Marquita is insured, the co-pay and out of pocket expenses are starting to add up.

The emotional and financial burden of surviving breast cancer is a challenge at any stage of life, but at only 35 years old, it somehow seems completely unfair and heartbreaking. Marquita’s prognosis is really positive and our family has no doubt she will come through this fight stronger than ever. With that said, the road ahead over the next few months will definitely be a challenge. Let's all help make it a little easier for her and her family. Everyone knows life does not freeze when things happen unexpectedly.

Let’s ease some of the stress with this fund and allow my sister, to just focus on healing.

Please also note that any funds collected that Marquita does not end up needing to cover the costs outlined above will be promptly donated to causes that help the other women in their fight against breast cancer.

Please continue to pray for my sister!

Thank you all for reading and considering Marquita’s road ahead.
