On December 20th, at approximately 11:00 a.m. in Bloomington, California, our family received disheartening news that my uncle Alex was detained and arrested by ICE. The vehicle involved was unmarked and undercover. In a moment of nervousness, Alex, who carries two forms of identification, one from Mexico and one from the United States, accidentally presented the incorrect ID, which led to his detention.

Alex was profiled and arrested despite addressing his rights, which were immediately denied. He is a hardworking, contributing member of society who has built a life, a family, and a future here. This incident shows how deeply troubling reality of how individuals are being treated under the current administration.

His arrest has left behind his wife and children who are now carrying the weight of a traumatic and injustice experience. We are asking for support in any way possible, including donations to help secure legal representation so Alex can return home to his family.
