Team Flash Mo: From Minnesota to the Boston Marathon!
Meet Moses, a young man whose energy and joy light up every racecourse. And meet his running partner and friend, Mark Hulsey, the “engine” of their duo racing team, Team Flash Mo. Together, they’re chasing a dream: to represent myTEAM TRIUMPH Minnesota at the 2026 Boston Marathon!

‍How It All Began
Moses discovered myTEAM TRIUMPH in 2016 through a friend, and from his very first practice run, his life changed.

Moses endured many challenges early in life. He has undergone multiple surgeries and lives with Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Delay, chronic pain and Restrictive Lung Disease caused by severe scoliosis. He uses a wheelchair for mobility and walks short distances with a gait trainer.

But when he’s out racing, Moses says he feels like his favorite superhero, The Flash. He loves the speed, the cheers, the music, and that moment of victory as he crosses the finish line. Running gives him freedom, independence, joy and distraction from his pain.

From 5Ks to Marathons
Moses loves to go fast! He’s completed 13 races so far, from 5Ks to full marathons, each one strengthening his endurance and confidence.

One of his favorite memories is running his first full marathon at the Twin Cities Marathon in 2018, dressed as The Flash. His Angels helped him stand and walk across the finish line, and the crowd erupted. Moses was named one of the top 100 most inspiring finishers that year.

That same joy shows up in every race, like when he ran the 15’s 5K on his 15th birthday and thought everyone’s race shirts with “15” were for him.

The Road to Boston
In 2024, Moses teamed up with Mark at the RBC Race for the Kids, and their connection was instant. Mark mentioned he dreamed of bringing a athlete with a disability to the Boston Marathon. Moses and his family didn’t hesitate: “We’re in!”

Mark and Moses trained hard and ran Grandma’s Marathon in 3:18:54, earning their Boston Marathon qualifying time.

Before that race, Mark helped secure a brand-new, custom Team Flash Mo racing chair from Hoyt/AdaptX, bright red and built for speed. This spring, Moses and Mark will make history as the first duo team from myTEAM TRIUMPH Minnesota to compete in a major marathon.

Why This Matters
For Moses, this race represents more than miles. It’s a milestone. It’s proof that with faith, friendship, and perseverance, anything is possible.

Moses’ mom says it best:
“I hope people see the abilities of a person with a disability — the hope, resilience, and smile that can change the world. Moses’ joy reminds us all what it means to keep moving forward.”

How Your Donation Helps
This dream comes with real costs, and your support makes it possible.

100% of the funds raised will go directly to supporting Team Flash Mo for:
• Flights to Boston
• Hotel accommodations (costing nearly $6,000 during marathon week)
• Van rental and transportation
• Daily needs
• A PCA (personal care assistant) to travel with and support Moses

Any remaining funds will be shared equally between myTEAM TRIUMPH Minnesota and AdaptX , to continue their mission of inclusion for athletes of all abilities.
