Hi everyone! My name is Sarah Schweitzer and I am Jacob Thompson‘s big sister. Most of you who know me, know of Jacob. ♥️ And if you don’t, you’re missing out, lol! He’s one of the brightest souls in the world with the kindest smile and the biggest heart ever. He always has a joke to tell and a smile to put on someone’s face! He doesn’t know a stranger in the world. Jacob is one of the hardest working people I have the privilege of knowing. Him and his fiancé Katie now have a beautiful 6 month old baby girl Blaire together, who I’m proud to call my niece! She is the light of their lives & brings so much joy & sunshine to all! Katie and Jacob were right in the middle of planning their wedding…
In mid November, Jacob had severe abdominal pain…an ER trip which revealed a complete colon blockage and then the next morning, emergency surgery to remove a colon mass happened ever so quickly. Then came the news of the biopsy results. On December 9th, we got news that rocked our entire family. 36 year old Jacob has stage 4 colon cancer with metastasis to his liver.
As you can imagine, along with this new diagnosis came complete shock, fear of the unknown, & now extreme worry over finances, & of course anxiety with all of the huge medical expenses that come along with a cancer diagnosis and treatment. Medical bills are quickly rolling in already, & Jacob was the main breadwinner for their family, as Katie as focusing on staying home with Blaire meeting all of her needs & running the household. It’s killing Jacob to not be able to work right now & help support his new family! He is a work horse and loves providing for his family, so you can imagine the emotional strain he is feeling right now.
Jacob starts chemo on January 7th & will undergo treatment for a minimum of six months to fight this beast! We have God on our side, and with that being said, HE WILL WIN THIS BATTLE!! We are fully trusting and believing this.
I know we are just coming out of the holiday season and times may be tough for some or even most, but anything helps. If you could find it in your heart to help them out with a donation, & or your positive thoughts, kind words of encouragement, prayers, and sharing this link… we would be forever grateful. This is quite the journey for Jacob and of course sweet Katie, who has been by his side from day one, loving on him and caring for him to the fullest. Please help spread the word on behalf of this sweet trio. ♥️ This entire world needs Jacob.
