On Saturday, April 23, 2022, the beloved Jim Gaffney passed away after battling advanced-stage lung and liver cancer at the age of 64. Jim worked for the Cliffside Park Public Schools for over 35 years, where he dedicated his time to helping students with special needs. Jim never considered his job to be work because he was able to help his colleagues and all their students reach their full potential every day, which is what mattered most to him. Jim was a selfless, loving, intelligent, and understanding person. The amount of people he mentored and inspired is immeasurable.

 

Jim's family has set up this page as a way for family, friends, colleagues, and everyone who knew Jim to pay tribute to him with messages, memories, and donations. This fund will pay for a scholarship in honor of a graduating Cliffside Park Senior student who embodies Jim's passion for education, hard work, selfless service, and a positive attitude towards life.
