Please Help James Fight His Way Home ❤️

I never imagined I would have to write something like this about my big brother.

On September 22, our family received the phone call no family ever wants to get. My brother, James Hubbard, 39, was involved in a devastating motorcycle accident in Anchorage, Alaska, after a vehicle pulled out in front of him. The driver fled the scene, leaving James critically injured.

In a matter of seconds, his life—and the lives of everyone who loves him—changed forever.

James will turn 40 years old on October 22nd. Instead of looking forward to celebrating this milestone with the people who love him, he is in a hospital fighting for his life and facing a long and uncertain road ahead.

James suffered multiple serious injuries, including fractures to his C1, C6, C7, T1 and T2 vertebrae, fractures to the bones in his arms, and a brain bleed. He is currently in the hospital receiving intensive care and facing multiple surgeries.

Right now, James is sedated while his body fights to heal.

As his sister, there are no words to describe what it feels like to stand beside your brother in a hospital room, watching the machines keep him alive and wondering what the next hour, the next day, or the next surgery will bring.

I would give anything to take this away from him.

Instead, all we can do is be there.

We sit beside him. We talk to him. We hold his hand. We tell him how loved he is. And we remind him that he has a family waiting for him to come home.

James has a long road ahead of him.

There will be surgeries, hospitalization, rehabilitation, medications, medical equipment, appointments, and months of recovery. He will likely be unable to work for an extended period of time, and the financial impact of an accident this serious is something no family can ever truly be prepared for.

We are asking for help because right now, our family needs it.

Any money raised will go toward James’s medical expenses and the many costs that come with a life-changing injury, including rehabilitation, transportation, medications, equipment, and basic living expenses while he is unable to work.

We want James to be able to put all of his energy into the one thing that matters most right now:

Healing and coming home.

James is so much more than what happened to him on September 22nd. He is a brother, a son, a friend, and someone who is deeply loved by so many people.

Our family knows that the road ahead won’t be easy. There will be setbacks, difficult days, and moments when recovery feels overwhelming. But James isn’t going to face those days alone.

We will be there.

We will celebrate every small victory. We will be there for every surgery, every step forward, every frustrating setback, and every moment that brings him closer to getting back to the life he had before this happened.

If you are able to donate, no amount is too small. Every dollar will help take some of the financial burden off James and our family and allow us to focus on being by his side.

If you aren’t able to donate, please share this fundraiser. A share can reach someone who can help, and that can make an enormous difference.

Most importantly, please keep James in your thoughts and send him all the strength and positive energy you can.

We don’t know exactly what the road ahead will look like yet.

But we know one thing for certain:

James is not walking it alone.

James, we love you more than you’ll ever know.
Keep fighting, brother. We’re right here. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who has reached out, checked on us, offered support, or simply let us know that you care. We will never be able to fully express what your love and support mean to our family during this incredibly difficult time.
