This scholarship fund is in memory of the life of Jacqueline E Woods - educator, administrator and supporter of women's equity issues. This scholarship will provide supplemental assistance to women of color attending 2 or 4 year colleges each year beginning school year 2020-2021 for at least the next 15 years.
Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Ms Woods was a graduate of Cass Technical High School, Michigan State University and Wayne State University. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and the Links Inc.
She served in the Dept of Education under President Clinton advising on adult learning and community college policy. Ms Woods also ran one of the largest women's organization in the nation, the American Association of University Women, focused on educational and equity issues for women and girls.
In her memory, this fund will support at least one female student of color with a supplemental stipend of $2,000-$5,000 each year for the next 15 years. Our hope is that your support of this fund will inspire other women of color to become leaders in our community.
