Jackson's Flower Walk 2019
Donation protected
In September 2017, we lost our son, Jackson Antonio Clark. He was a happy, healthy little boy who loved shoes, spoons, cars, silly faces, and flower walks. Jackson sadly passed away in his sleep shortly after his second birthday. After a thorough investigation we were never given a cause of death, making this a case of "Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood" (SUDC).
Jackson was an early-riser so our family would often start the day with a little "flower walk" around the neighborhood. He loved to smell roses and blow on dandelion puff-balls on our walks near Green Lake.
Jackson's birthday and death anniversary are both in September, separated by about ten days. During these ten days, we like hold a Flower Walk for our friends and family to collectively remember Jackson and spend time doing one of his favorite activities in our old Green Lake neighborhood.
About this Fundraiser
For Jackson's Flower Walk this year, we're raising funds in memory of Jackson Antonio Clark for two charities. We'll be sending half to the SUDC Foundation , and half to RAICES .
(You can also contribute by getting a shirt for the walk; each shirt includes about $10 of donation, above the cost of producing the shirt.)
About the SUDC Foundation
The mission of The SUDC Foundation includes funding research crucial to uncovering the mystery of SUDC, providing support to families and professionals worldwide who have been affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child, and raising much-needed awareness.
About RAICES
RAICES (The Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency that promotes justice by providing free and low-cost legal services to underserved immigrant children, families, and refugees.
We've selected RAICES this year because of their efforts to support refugee and immigrant families, in direct action against America's concentration camps. As bereaved parents, we feel particularly moved to take action to keep families safe and together.
