Jack and Caverlee Dahill Mission trip to Guatemala
Donation protected
An invitation! Will you help us show the impoverished families of Guatemala City living in a “garbage dump” community that God has not forgotten them? Help us bring to them our compassion and our loving hands.
We, Jack and Caverlee Dahill, sophomores in high school in Austin, TX, want to help build homes, schools/classrooms and help with English lessons in Guatemala City in December 2019. Our mom and dad have raised us to use our gifts to serve others. One of the Scripture verses we aim to live by is “to whom much is given, of him much is required” (Luke 12:48).
We know that we are incredibly fortunate, living in a nice home with two cars, two parents and a loving extended family, and getting a first-rate education. We want to challenge ourselves to experience the situations of others and get to know our brothers and sisters who live in much different conditions. We want to offer our hands and hearts to support them.
Our school, St. Michael’s Catholic Academy, is planning a mission trip, partnered with the non-profit, International Samaritan (https://www.intsam.org/), whose mission is to alleviate poverty in “garbage dump communities” globally. Our expenses will include airfare and room and board for 10 days for each of us.
The cost for each of us is $2,500 – a total of $5,000 together. We will be able to contribute from our swim team coaching, lawn mowing and babysitting jobs, but we could use some assistance. Will you help us help the folks in Guatemala City by making a donation?
We greatly appreciate any help and prayers you send our way!
