In memory of Jackie Davis
It is with heavy heart that we unexpectedly said goodbye to Jackie (grams/ma) on Monday March 1, 2021. She was such an amazing and strong woman and will be dearly missed, although she may be happy to be rid of all of us.
On Friday February 26th, grandma was admitted to Methodist with a diagnosis of Stage 4 lung cancer that spread to her liver and pulmonary embolism (clot in the lung). Saturday she underwent a biopsy of her liver. Sunday night, she coded and was put on lifesupport. She had internal bleeding and more imaging was done. It was determined that her cancer was in fact wide spread. It was seen in the lungs, liver, kidneys, adrenal glands, chest and abdominal lymph nodes, as well as her bones. The tumors were causing the bleeding and there was nothing that could be done to remedy it. Family was able to visit her on Monday and say their goodbyes. At 3pm we all gathered for prayer and a song before removing her ventilator. She passed peacefully at 4pm. While it was SOO hard to say goodbye we know that she is no longer in pain. She sure was a fighter and so strong.
Any help that could be offered would be greatly appreciated.
