In Memory of Sonia Castro: A Mother, Fighter, and Angel

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Sonia Castro—a devoted mother, grandmother, and true warrior—who was called home to the Lord on June 26, 2025.

Sonia’s life was a powerful testament to strength and unwavering love. She was the proud mother of three: Kiara, who sadly passed in 2013, and her two sons, Damian and Dennis. She was also a loving grandmother to Jaelee, Damian, and Kaylee. Sonia poured her heart into raising her family while bravely battling Loeys-Dietz syndrome, a rare and challenging genetic condition that also affects her children.

Just six months ago, Sonia experienced the heartbreaking loss of her own mother, who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Despite carrying the weight of grief, Sonia continued to show incredible strength and grace, putting her family first even in the face of unimaginable pain.

She began her journey with this illness in her early 20’s and never stopped fighting. Despite countless obstacles, she remained a radiant source of love, faith, and courage to everyone around her. Her resilience and devotion will continue to inspire us.

We are now reaching out for support to help honor Sonia’s memory and legacy. Contributions will go toward supporting her children and grandchildren as they navigate this incredibly difficult time.
