256 lives. 256 stories. Some just beginning their fight with ALS. Some in its final stages. Some no longer here to tell their story.
Flickering Souls: Illuminating ALS brings them together in a single, living installation. It is a collective act of awareness, presence, and resistance. Each flickering light represents a person affected by a disease that slowly takes away the ability to move, to speak, and ultimately, to breathe. What remains is their light, their story, and their place within this community.
This piece is not just seen, it is felt. For those living with ALS, it offers something often taken from them: visibility, connection, and the sense of being part of something larger, a shared fight to be recognized in a world that too often looks away.
This campaign supports both the life of the work and the life of the artist behind it. Eric, who has been living with ALS since 2020, created Flickering Souls as a way to ensure these stories are not lost. Contributions directly support his care while also making it possible to bring this installation into new spaces across the country, spaces where ALS is rarely acknowledged, but deeply needs to be.
