Illness Forced Him To Retire
Donation protected
Last month Be Nguyen was hospitalized for low functioning thyroid but more problematically masses were discovered in his abdominal area and lungs. The prognosis is not great and during his week in the hospital he was advised to close his business and retire as a first step towards a very uncertain future.
For over 40 years, Be, a Vietnamese immigrant and bespoke tailoring professional, has overcome innumerable obstacles and challenges to become a self-sustaining and supportive pillar of our community. His journey from a humble tailor to a master of his craft is one of resilience, determination, and love. Working seven days a week for decades, he not only perfected his craft but also built a better life for his family, helping to bring them from Vietnam and overcoming countless obstacles along the way. Now, as Be faces retirement, we are coming together to give back to a man who has given so much. This fundraiser aims to provide him with a well-deserved cushion as he transitions into this new season of his life.
Retirement savings was never an option in his line of work, and now Be is facing a future in which financial stability is no longer sustainable and. Very uncertain. This is an extremely painful reality for a proud and highly independent elder to face after a lifetime of taking care of himself others through hard work. Like most immigrants in his position, he imagined he would work indefinitely, but health issues have wrestled that option out of his hand.
You are invited to help us ensure he can enjoy this forced retirement with some peace of mind, knowing his community supports him.
Please consider donating to honor Be’s incredible legacy of dedication and perseverance. Every contribution helps provide him with some security for medical and personal expenses and the comfort of relief such a hard working elder deserves after a lifetime of service. Thank you for your generosity!
