Ianjon's Fight Against Colon Cancer

On June 1, 2018, Ianjon Brower was admitted to the ER due to a twist in his intestines and was sent into surgery that night. During the operation, the surgeon found cancer and removed a total of 18 inches from his colon. At that time the cancer had already spread to the surrounding fat cells as well as his lymph system, classifying it as stage 4. Ianjon is currently staying in Fairbanks, Alaska, but will be traveling down to the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage to receive chemotherapy. He will be going back into surgery on Tuesday, June 26, to have a catheter set in place for his chemotherapy treatment.  Ianjon grew up in Barrow and for the past few years he has been attending the University of Alaska Fairbanks. While furthering his education in Math, Ianjon has contributed his time towards various volunteer opportunities involved in Native Arts.  Anyone who knows Ianjon knows he is a kind soul, and is quick to help someone in need. He’s got a strong spirit and is fighting to overcome this sudden obstacle.  Due to all these surgeries, Ianjon is unable to work and support himself. All funds raised will be used to cover costs of food, housing, travel, medical, and any additional costs to help ease the financial burden for him and his family.
