Cello Stolen - Heart is Broken

From Summer's mother:
   It is hard to put into words how much we are grieving over having Summer's cello stolen from her home while spending Thanksgiving with her family.  Summer fell in love with the cello in the 5th grade at the tender age of 10.  We rented one for several years until we were able to grant her 13th birthday wish of having her own.

   This lovely cello was a part of our family. It was an extension of Summer and her passion for creativity. The loss she is experiencing is not just for the physical cello, but the ability to create the music that has brought her and her family so much joy.

   She played with Visalia's Valley Oak Middle School Advanced Orchestra and the Golden West High Schools Advanced Orchestra.  She spent hundreds of hours practicing under the caring instruction of Dr. Valerie Walden. She participated in 4 California Honor Orchestras, several TKMEA Orchestras, Kings County Symphony, College of the Sequoias Youth Symphony and many musical theater productions.  She was also able to earn extra money by performing in quartets for weddings and other events.
