Kenny’s Battle Against Covid-19

Donation protected

Update: Kenny is finally at peace.  He fought a long, hard battle for his life against the many challenges brought on by COVID-19.  Initially he was showing signs of progress after many ups and downs, until the night of January 7th, he had a stroke (blood hemorrhaging in his brain).  A craniotomy was performed to help stop the brain bleed and allow for swellingbut unfortunately another one had to be performed after more blood was discovered following an updated CT Scan.  The swelling in his brain increased through Sunday, until he passed peacefully that eveningsurrounded by his family.  I would like to thank all of you again for all your thoughts, prayers, and donations.  Your generosity truly means so much to me.

Back in October 2021, my husband Kenny came down with COVID-19.  After being unable to control his fever, along with troubled breathing, he was hospitalized.  Soon after, he was diagnosed with COVID pneumonia – a variation of pneumonia that attacks multiple lobes of the lungs.

Due to a prior history or having pneumonia as a child, along with extensive lung scarring, Kenny’s body was unable to control the fluid buildup in his lungs, all while fighting off COVID. He was sedated into medically induced coma, was intubated, and later

tracheostomy had to be performed.

Since early November, he has had multiple challenges, and his oxygen levels have not been improving.  The decision was made to put Kenny on ECMO which is helping to give his heart and lungs more time to heal.  He may be on ECMO for several weeks or up to several months.  He has his good days and bad, but the good days are definitely few and far between.  It seems like every time he takes one step forward, his body goes three steps back.

Kenny is young and is a fighter.  I know deep in my heart that he will come out of this, and we will work with him every step of the way through his recovery.  I would never dream of setting something up like this, but I know Kenny’s medical bills are building up.  To everyone that has donated, from the bottom of my heart, it means the world to us.  Thank you for your generosity, prayers, and support.
