Housing for Gutknecht Family

Hi! I am Bryant, a final semester college student about to graduate with a bachelors degree in Theatre Arts. This past January, after my entire house battled Covid for 2 weeks, my grandmother who also suffers from dementia had to be put into a home for 24 hour care leaving my parents, brother, and myself in her house that was under a reverse mortgage. Upon notice of her full-time residency in a care facility, my family including my mother, a fully disabled woman receiving disability, my father, a partially disabled veteran, my brother and myself must vacate the house. Due to our families medical and financial struggles, we are homeless. My brother and I are fortunate enough to be staying with a friend but my parents are not so fortunate, not knowing where they will be able to sleep. My mother has given me the absolute world, so many opportunities such as, a great secondary education, immense support, and a fantastic role model for myself. To be in this position after all that she has given me makes me refuse to sit by as her and my father struggle. Thank you for any and all contributions from the bottom of my heart. I believe heavily in the power of community and what one can achieve, and appreciate the incredible one surrounding me.

Hey folks Alex Fondersmith here. Thank you so much Bryant for allowing me to help set this up on your behalf. I set the goal to $5000 being that it should provide several months of rent for Bryant‘s family so they can focus on getting better in a safe, kind, and peaceful place. Thank you so much to all the friends and families in Phi Kappa Sigma, McDaniel college, and all the organizations and individuals that I’ve spoken with that are helping to come together to raise money.
