Support Dayton’s Baseball Dreams After the Sudden Loss of His Father, Coach, and Best Friend

On August 20, 2025, our world changed forever. We unexpectedly lost an incredible man — a devoted husband, loving father, passionate coach, and unwavering supporter of youth baseball. At just 46 years young, Greg “Buck” Stevenson was taken far too soon, leaving behind his wife Shelley and their 16-year-old son, Dayton.

Greg was more than just a parent — he was Dayton’s number one fan, best friend, and guiding light both on and off the field. Dayton has played baseball for 12 years, and his father was there every step of the way — coaching, cheering, and mentoring him through every inning.

From the Orleans Red Sox to the Canada Reds Baseball Academy — where they nearly went undefeated in the CanAm League — to the 613 Kings and Tanner Watson Elite, Dayton’s journey has been shaped by his father’s love and dedication. This past season, Dayton played for Tanner Watson Elite under Coach Steve Renaud. He also spent three seasons with the Cumberland Grads (2019–2022), where Greg proudly served as assistant coach for two of those years.

Whether cheering from the stands or coaching from the dugout, Greg was always there. His love for the game — and for his son — was unmatched.

Dayton’s dream is to earn a Division 1 baseball scholarship, a goal his father believed in wholeheartedly. With your support, we hope to provide Dayton with the resources, stability, and opportunities he needs to continue pursuing that dream and find a sense of normalcy during this difficult time.

Shelley, Dayton’s mom, does not drive, which makes navigating this new chapter even more challenging. Your support will help ensure Dayton can continue to grow — both in life and in baseball.
