अत्यन्तै गह्रौँ मनका साथ हामी हाम्रा पूजनीय बुबा पुरुषोत्तम पोखरेल (१९४५–२०२५) को देहावसानको खबर साझा गर्दछौँ। सुरे, भुटानमा जन्मिएर जीवनको धेरै समय खेतीपातीमा बिताउनुभएका बुबाको अन्तिम समय शान्तिपुर, असाममा बित्यो। म अहिले अमेरिकामा रहे तापनि बुबासँगका ती पुराना र रमाइला सम्झनाहरू मेरो मानसपटलमा सधैँ ताजा छन्। बुबाको अन्तिम संस्कार गर्नु एक छोराको कर्तव्य भए तापनि, मैले अर्कै जातकी केटीसँग विवाह गरेको निहुँमा समाजले 'भेदभाव' गरेर क्रिया गराउने पण्डितसम्म नदिई हामीलाई एक हप्तासम्म निकै दुःख दियो। यो कठिन घडीमा बुबाको दाह-संस्कार र १३ दिने काजकिरिया स-सम्मान सम्पन्न गर्न र आमाको सहारा बन्नका लागि हामीले यो आर्थिक सहयोगको अपिल गरेका छौँ। जातभातभन्दा ठुलो मानवता हो भन्ने विश्वासका साथ, हामी सम्पूर्ण आफन्त र शुभचिन्तकहरूलाई हाम्रो घरमा आई श्रद्धाञ्जली अर्पण गरिदिनुहुन हार्दिक निमन्त्रणा गर्दछौँ।

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of my father, Pursottom Pokhrel (1945–2025), a hardworking farmer from Surey, Bhutan, who breathed his last in Shantipur, Assam. Although I now live in the USA, I carry fond memories of my dad's strength and simple life on the farm, and it is my deepest wish as his only son, Bishnu Pokhrel, to honor him properly. However, because of my marriage, our community practiced bhedbhav (discrimination) and refused to send a priest, leaving me struggling for over a week to arrange his Antyesti (final rites). We are raising funds to cover the costs of his daah-sanskar and the 13-day karma-kanda rituals to ensure he receives a dignified farewell despite the isolation we are facing. We warmly welcome anyone to visit our family in Blacklick, OH to offer shradhanjali; your kindness and presence would prove that love and humanity are stronger than caste.
