Our beautiful daughter, sister and friend, Nicola Cheyenne Murphy, departed this life unexpectedly and tragically this past Wednesday, May 22nd, 2019.
Nicola was born on July 23rd, 1991 in Kansas City, but spent most of her childhood in Portland, OR, which is where she grew into a hardworking and independent young woman who aspired to become a registered nurse. She moved to Phoenix, AZ in 2013 to pursue these goals. She recently had been experiencing a personal struggle with sobriety and was seeking assistance at a local facility. She was found unresponsive Wednesday evening in what appears to have been an accidental death due to a mix of prescription medication and alcohol.
Nicola was a bright light in this life that is gone far, far too soon. She leaves behind a grieving family to carry on with this loss while handling the burdens, personal and financial, that are an inevitable part of the responsibilities left to the living.
Nicola leaves behind many who cherished her, including her mom Telisa, dad Dino, sister Tatyana, and brother Julian. The family is making arrangements for cremation, and a memorial service at a later date. Those of us who care about Nicola and her family are hoping to offset the costs of these unexpected and necessary arrangements at this incredibly difficult time.
