Beloved Joy Harmon, best known for her unforgettable role in Cool Hand Luke, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 87, surrounded by her family.

From her early days on Broadway and appearances on classic television shows to her place in Hollywood history, Joy’s talent left a lasting impact on audiences everywhere.

At the height of her career, Joy chose to step away from the spotlight to focus on her family. She later founded Aunt Joy’s Cakes in Los Angeles, where she shared her warmth and generosity with her community. Those who knew her remember not just her talent, but her kindness—she was known to return money sent by fans, simply out of gratitude.

Joy leaves behind her three children, nine grandchildren, and a legacy defined by creativity, compassion, and love.

This GoFundMe has been created by a family member (daugther-in-law, Jodi Gourson) on behalf of Jason, Julie and Jamie, to help cover the cost of Joy’s medical expenses, during her home care and including her cremation.
