Dear Friends and Family

It is with a heavy heart that I share that a beloved member of our Hillview family, Frances Torres, passed away. For thirteen years, Frances was a warm, welcoming presence in our office, serving as both our Attendance and Health Clerk. She will be deeply missed.

Frances will be remembered for her constant smile, lovable personality, and the care she provided all those around her. She joined Tustin Unified in 2006 as an office assistant with Nutrition Services and then, after a brief time away, she came to Hillview as a nutrition assistant in 2012. Frances then served Adult Education as an office assistant. She returned to Hillview as a community liaison prior to being promoted to attendance clerk in 2022. In each of her roles, Frances took care of those around her, from our students and staff to parents and members of our community. Her family is a huge part of Tustin Unified, with her husband, Rodrigo, a custodian at Foothill High School, her son, Rigo, an IT technician, and her son, Adrian, a former BI in Tustin.

Words cannot begin to describe the heartbreak felt by our staff, students, and families. Our community is grieving, and our love and support are with her family as they work to cope with this tremendous loss. Counselors will remain on campus for our students and staff. We encourage anyone who needs to talk to someone to please contact the office.

We will forever remember Frances’s impact on our hearts. Please join us in keeping Frances Torres’ family in your thoughts and prayers.

Services will take place at Immaculate Heart Of Mary Catholic Church located at 1100 S Center St, Santa Ana, CA 92704 at 3:00PM on Saturday, November 29, 2025. Following with light refreshments at Hillview High School 1701 San Juan St. Tustin.
