If you’ve ever met the Agnastopoulus family, you’ve likely been immediately enchanted by them. They’ve answered a calling that they probably didn’t understand at the time, and continued to live, serve and lead through this calling. They’ve created a farm to serve their community by providing proteins that are not the easiest methods, but the cleanest they can be. The love they show their animals just exudes in all aspects - the animals know them when they pass by, they respond to their humans and rush to them for pets. This is not common and is stunning to experience. Their farm is such a special place, you can feel the ‘vibe’ as soon as you walk towards the barn. This is not an ordinary place.
A couple of weeks ago, we experienced hurricane Isaias in central Alabama. We were in desperate need of the rain, but what came with it was devastating to Our Sweet Magnolia Farms. The storms that accompanied the rain ended up destroying much of their chicken population along with the shade and protection structures out in the fields. They lost almost 500 chickens who were about three weeks from harvest. To a small business operation, this loss has been and will continue to be felt for quite some time. Anna’s response to this tragedy, which happened while they were hosting a wedding of about 100 people, was that ‘God will provide, He always does’. This has stuck with me since then, that they are so rooted in their faith that even in the times of struggle, they turn to the Lord.
I’ve created this fundraiser to help them recoup the lost income, to help them bounce back so that they can continue the work they’ve been called to do. Their livelihood depends on income so that they can continue feeding us. If you feel so led and are able to share, any donation to them will go straight to Nick, Anna and Emaline.
