I am raising funds to help relieve my parents of the financial burden of putting my younger brother to rest. In 2022, my brother, Brett, was in a terrible motor vehicle accident where he collided with a semi and sustained a serious traumatic brain injury. He spent several months in the hospital, and eventually a rehabilitation facility.

During this time, my parents always made the effort to visit Brett every day. There were Covid restrictions at the time, so they were often alternating days, driving as far as Hershey to be with my brother. When Brett came home in July 2022, he required complete total care. My mom acted as his caretaker while also working from home. Over the last almost 4 years, Brett was making slow and steady progress towards getting better. This year, my dad installed a motorized lift so that Brett could enjoy the comfort of his own bedroom. Additionally, my parents made the drive to Ohio to get a larger wheelchair van in order to start traveling with Brett. He was able to visit family in Florida for Thanksgiving before his passing.

Brett’s passing was sudden and completely unexpected. We were all holding onto hope that he would one day make a full recovery and live his dream of owning his own farm. My parents were devoted to giving him the most love and care they could give.

I would like to help my parents by raising funds to help cover the cost of Brett’s visitation, cremation, casket rental, etc. No parent should ever have to go through this. Brett was such a beloved son, brother, and uncle.
