Hey everyone! It is with complete humility that I write this, so I’ll just get straight to it. We feel like we have exhausted all other options and this is the only way we can see to stay above water.
Many of you have seen our recent chain of events and have asked how we are even surviving under these burdens. We have been through the wringer and that doesn’t seem to be stopping. In May of last year, we thought we had turned the corner and we had made some great progress. We had both renewed and reconciled our relationships with Christ, had a budget and were building up some savings. However, the little bit we rebuilt has been toppled and we have no other alternatives at this point.
Bryan’s employment with Truist Bank was terminated very unexpectedly back on January 27. This termination took a significant portion of the income we had established and unfortunately coincides with some serious physical and mental health conditions he is facing. We had already met Bryan’s deductible and are starting a new deductible and out-of-pocket amount on my insurance through work to cover him. Further, our current lease is up and we are having to move into a smaller and much less expensive place.
We are trying to raise this initial amount to help cover immediate expenses and medical payments. However, we also know that our friends and business networks have access to various resources that could be a direct benefit instead of just sending money.
Below is a list of immediate and upcoming expenditures that we ask you to help us with:
- Bryan has been told by two physicians that he needs surgery on his lumbar spine area to relieve pressure on a pinched nerve. He has degenerative disk disease that has caused disk herniations, and bulges and this pinched nerve is severely limiting his mobility. Our initial deductible for him is $4,000. Doctors will not schedule surgery until we can come up with the money. They do allow a payment plan but still need $2000 upfront to get that started.
- Our vehicles are being surrendered to the finance company and mine will be the same between now and April 1. We are trying to find a car to drive around town and have some decent options for $3000 or less. We have a local friend who is a master mechanic and he is helping us get it right.
- To move to the new place, we need $3000 which represents the security deposit and the first month’s rent. We are selling off a lot of our stuff in weekend and online yard sales; however, we will still need to rent a moving truck and find some labor to help out. I’m sure we can find labor here by word-of-mouth but a truck is going to run us around $300.
We know that the economy is in the crapper right now and inflation is still hurting many of us. We are casting this net across our entire network and asking for whatever you can offer to help. The last 24 months of our lives have taken a toll on our mental and physical health. We just can’t seem to catch our breath!!!
Please help in any way that you can. If you’re not able to, we completely understand and just ask that you keep us in your prayers. We love you all and hope that you're doing well!
Thank you so very much!
