Ziggy is Markus’s coworker’s beloved dog, and he has already been through so much. Ziggy was found chained to grocery carts in a parking garage at Trader Joe’s in Hillcrest, San Diego, and since then he has become a deeply loved part of the family. He is a sweet dog who means so much to Markus’s coworker and his children. Right now, though, Ziggy is struggling with ongoing skin allergies that have become very difficult and expensive to manage. His owner has tried everything he can think of, from changing Ziggy’s food and shampoo to brushing him constantly and trying different ointments and treatments, but Ziggy’s skin is still badly irritated and he continues to lose hair. Traditional flea medications also make his skin worse, which has only added to the challenge.

At the same time, Markus’s coworker is going through a very difficult divorce, and the financial strain has made it hard to afford the care Ziggy needs and deserves. This fundraiser is to help Ziggy get the right veterinary treatment, medications, and neutering so he can stay healthy, comfortable, and most importantly, stay with the family that loves him so much.
