Help With Marlowe's Surgery Bill

Donation protected
On November 8th, I took my boy, Marlowe, to the emergency vet when I noticed him breathing harder than usual. That night, after oxygen therapy and an ultrasound/xrays, the vet diagnosed him with Idiopathic Chylothorax. This condition means that his chest fills up with fluid, putting pressure on his lungs and making it hard for him to breathe. He has been getting chest taps at the ER every 4 days to lessen the pressure on his lungs, but this is not sustainable long-term. I was given two options: major open-chest surgery or saying goodbye to this otherwise happy, very healthy boy.

I have to give him a fighting chance, so he will undergo this life-saving surgery next week. If he survives the surgery and the procedure is successful, he is expected to return to his normal sweet self within weeks.

I adopted him at 4 months old from a rescue organization that pulled him from the local pound. He has helped me through the death of a loved one, depression, unemployment, you name it, we've seen it together.  He loves belly rubs (it's NOT a trap!), grooming his mama, warm cubbies and rolling around on plastic bags.

I would be forever grateful for assistance with his second chance.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
