please help my niece and her brand new family as they navigate a challenging diagnosis with their 2 month old baby she has written some words for me to share about the situation. They need help with some medical devices and other on going costs associated with her condition
Our poor girl, Solreyah, was rushed to the hospital after suddenly beginning to have seizures. We had to call 911, and it has been the scariest and hardest experience of our lives. After multiple tests and several exhausting days in the hospital, doctors are still unsure what caused the seizures, but for now she has been diagnosed with epilepsy at only 2 months old.
Solreyah has been started on Keppra to help control the seizures over the next few years. Since starting the medication, our normally happy, smiley baby has been miserable, uncomfortable, and in pain. Watching such a tiny baby go through IVs, hospital stays, testing, and seizures has been heartbreaking.
Thankfully, she is now back home recovering, but this is only the beginning of a long journey for our family. We are raising funds to help with medical-related expenses, monthly bills, travel costs, everyday necessities, and to save up for safer and more reliable transportation so we can get Solreyah to appointments and emergency care when needed.
We are also hoping to purchase a SAMi seizure monitor so we can better monitor her seizures and help keep her safe while she sleeps.
Any donation, share, or support means more to us than words can explain. Thank you for helping our sweet girl and our family during one of the most difficult times in our lives.
