My partner and myself are at a crossroads in our lives. Everything has happened so quickly—I lost my job, suffered emotional abuse, and for over a decade, I was my grandmother’s caregiver. During that time, I faced more than I can put into words: threats, fear, and the daily challenges of caring for someone with dementia and severe mental health issues. Anyone who has worked with the elderly in these circumstances knows how overwhelming and isolating it can be.

Right now, it feels impossible to keep going on our own. We’re both exhausted and overwhelmed, and asking for help is not easy for us. But we have no other choice but to reach out to our community for support. We need to move to California to find a safe place to live, start new jobs, and rebuild our lives from the ground up. The past months have been incredibly hard, and we’re both broke and struggling to see a way forward. We’re hoping that with a little help, we can finally have the chance to start over in a stable home and a safe environment.

The funds raised will go directly toward our moving expenses, paying off bills that have piled up, and securing an apartment so we can begin this new chapter.
