Every week in Kenya, children are found wandering alone; abandoned, with nowhere to go. Stephen was one of them. This is his story, and the story of many more children just like him.

A Success Story: Stephen’s Journey

In June 2024, Stephen, a 9-year-old boy living with HIV+, was referred to us by Kikopey Police Station in Kenya after being found wandering alone, rejected by his mother and family, desperate for safety.

Today, Stephen is thriving. He lives with his grandmother in a stable home, attends school, and smiles in a way that tells you everything you need to know about what community can achieve.

Because people came together, Stephen now has:

∙ A safe and loving home with his grandmother

∙ Consistent medical care and HIV treatment

∙ Access to education and the opportunity it brings

∙ Emotional support to heal from past trauma

Our Mission: Kwetu Haven & Community Programs

Through Kwetu Haven and our community, Nisria is committed to supporting abandoned children in Kenya; providing shelter, medical care, education, and a real chance at a better future.

Our Fundraising Phases

We are raising a total of $25,000 in phases so you can see exactly how your money is used:

∙ Phase 1 — $7,500: Rescue, shelter, and food

∙ Phase 2 — $7,500: Medical care and counseling

∙ Phase 3 — $10,000: School enrollment and long-term support

We are currently in Phase 1. Every dollar moves us closer to the next child we can help.

∙ $50 — A week’s stay at our rescue home
